Intramural Sports
February 10th, 2008
The Brothers of California Epsilon have decided to join some Intramural Sports. As a fraternity we are participating in Basketball League A, Basketball League B, Soccer, Volleyball, and Flag Football. Of course they are only intramural sports, but to have almost all the brothers participate in these activities is exciting. At the end of the season, the best 'team' gets a plaque in the gym.

Everyone has always had strong friendships with these two men and we are honored to have them start the process to become Brothers.
Greek Week
November 17th - 21st, 2008
Greek Week ended on November 21st. Sigma Alpha Epsilon along with many of the other fraternities and sororities joined in on the week's festivities. There was a toga contest, trivia game, lip singing contest, and kickball game. SAE participated in every event with an extreme amount of spirit. Drew Hanson '11, Justin Aguilar '09, David Nelson '11, and Thomas Whitacre '11 took part in the lip singing contest, singing to Vanessa Carlton's "A Thousand Miles." Although they did not win the competition, the crowd responded with loud cheers and cries for the SAE brothers. The video of their performancecan be viewed by clicking here.
Thanksgiving With Alpha November 20th, 2008
California Epsilon had their annual Thanksgiving dinner with Alpha. The girls brought over
the delicious homemade food while the provided a dining room and drinks. The event, like always, was a complete success. With nearly full attendance from both fraternity and sorority we were able to enjoy a festive evening. This year
we are happy to announce that all three turkeys were finished as well as two large containers of stuffing, multiple pumpkin pies, and
a large amount of gravy.
Halloween Haunted House
October 29th, 2008 - October 31st, 2008
California Epsilon threw their annual Halloween Haunted House for the children of Eagle Rock. The SAE house is decorated using black tarps and a lot of black duck tape and is transformed into an amazing haunted house. The house usually takes a total of 30 man hours of work to decorate. The Haunted House is put on as a philanthropy event for the Children's Miracle Network (Sigma Alpha Epsilon's main philanthropic group). This year $3 dollars was the entry fee into the haunted house. SAE ended up making over $700 for the Children's Miracle Network. That is a significant increase in last years fundraising. Nick Summers '10 lead this years Haunted House and he deserves a lot of the credit for everything was put together. The house was put on for three days, to allow everyone from the community to visit. Wednesday and Thursday were slower days averaging around 40 guests per night, but Friday SAE had a crowd allowing around 120 people into the haunted house. The 73rd John O. Mosley Leadership School
July 24th, 2008 - July 28th, 2008
This year Justin Aguilar '09 and Thomas Whitacre '11
went to the 73rd Annual John O. Mosley Leadership School. The brothers
were arrived in Miami early morning the July 24th (around 3 a.m.) and by
7:30 were ready to go for the 4 day cruise to Mexico. Justin and Thomas
attended the five seminars and two chapter meetings offered every day.
The brothers separated during the day to meet different brother from
across the country but always came back during the night to go over
notes and get closer as brothers. The seminars ran from 8:30 in the
morning until 6:00 in the afternoon. After two intense days of learning,
the brothers were dropped off in Carmen, Mexico for 6 hours of free
time. The brothers had a great time. The guest speakers at this
Leadership School were General Robert B. Myers and David
Stollman. Every talk that these speakers gave were amazing. Justin
and Thomas would like to thank the California Epsilon chapter advisors
Jesus Maldonado '00 and Charles Moran '03 for their
donations which allowed Justin and Thomas to go to leadership school.
